Senior Communications Manager

Reporting to and working closely with the CMO, you will be an integral hire for Capp expanding marketing team. You will own, enhance and execute our internal and external communications strategy in support of our enterprise level sales and marketing objectives.


Role Description

You will help to refine our external voice and to build our thought leader status. Improving our internal voice and employer brand, supporting our efforts to enhance our culture internally and promote it externally will also be a key part of the role. In partnership with our team, PR agencies, clients and external stakeholders you will devise and distribute impactful multi-media content and communications. Getting our message out, driving awareness of and demand for our solutions and nurturing existing relationships is essential. You will work with the sales team to ensure they have a best in class toolkit to support our buying process. Additionally, you will be our 'industry ear' providing insight on trends to inform our marketing strategy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Be a key contributor to Capp marketing strategy
  • Own, enhance and execute our internal and external communications plan
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create compelling multi-channel content which drives brand awareness and demand, including but not limited to:

    • Editorial content
    • Blogs
    • Social content
    • Insights and research papers
    • Client testimonials (video, printed, digital)
  • Enable the sales team, in partnership with product marketing, through the creation of an impactful and message-driven sales toolkit, including talk tracks, battle cards, presentations, etc.
  • Create compelling content and communications to help drive demand and nurture existing relationships in partnership with our subject matter experts and external stakeholders
  • Work with our PR agencies to maximise media engagement results and grow online and offline coverage - this will include drafting press releases, responding to inbound media requests as well as expanding and deepening our connections with relevant media and influencers
  • Engage with analysts to increase our coverage in reports and recommendations
  • Improve the quality of our content, writing style and tone across all channels – web, social, thought leadership, internal communications, etc.
  • Provide updates to the business, including senior stakeholders on our communications activities


Essential Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of communications experience - experience in the field of talent assessment and development solutions and service is preferred
  • Proven ability to enhance brand awareness thought leader status and demand by leveraging all marketing communications channels
  • Previous experience in a scale-up environment would be advantageous but is not required
  • Proven ability to brief, manage and drive results from PR agencies
  • Previous experience working with a multi-location team
  • Highly articulate and excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • A passion for communication, storytelling and the impact it can have
  • Willing to travel up to Birmingham/London (depending on location) 25% of the time
